BROMLEY
BLUES
CLUB
Bromley has always been associated with the blues. In the 1960s, the Bromel Club at the Bromley Court Hotel hosted many American bluesmen, including Sonny Boy Williamson, Screamin’ Jay Hawkins, Champion Jack Dupree, John Lee Hooker and Bo Diddley, as well as stars such as Jimi Hendrix and Wilson Pickett. Sonny Boy also appeared in early 1964 at the now demolished White Hart Inn in the town centre.
British disciples of these legends also featured – John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers, Zoot Money, Long John Baldry and the Animals also appeared on multiple occasions.
Now, the blues is back for 2024. Mississippi MacDonald and The Bourne Music Club are proud to present a new series of blues shows featuring the cream of British and American musicians – the Bromley Blues Club at Bromley Little Theatre.

“Its been so long, until I just can’t sleep at night
Been so long, that I just can’t sleep at night
I go to eat my breakfast in the morning
And my teeth and tongue begin to fight”
— Sonny Boy Williamson played the Bromel Club, Bromley on January 31st 1964

“When you miss your baby, you look around can’t see nothing but just your shade on the ground
So sad to be lonesome, I know it’s too much inconvenient to be alone
But I declare you feel good when your baby come back home”
